Last year The Man with No Name Trilogy films were released on Blu-ray as a box set and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly a couple of years ago on its own. Now, the first two films, A Fistful of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More, are available separately on Blu. These are the identical discs from the set released a year ago. …Continued…
Ah, the drudgery of married life. Sick of dull routine and faking your way through intimate moments? Has the spark dimmed a little? Perhaps you need a hall pass–A week off from your marriage. During that week, maybe you should just rent Hall Pass. …Continued…
Resurrection is the ultimate pay-off in playing video games. No matter how many times we die, we can pop in another token or re-start the level and try again. Coinciding with the rebirth of the original game, this time appearing on home consoles as opposed to stand-up arcade cabinets, and the introduction of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web-series, Mortal Kombat, the 1995 film by trash-auteur Paul W. S. Anderson (Resident Evil) has been given a new life on Blu-ray. The nostalgia factor will win out here…. …Continued…
I can’t tell you what will happen when you die, but I can tell you what will happen when you watch Hereafter. After a little delay, it finally receives the Blu treatment, and I’m glad. …Continued…
Shootin’, sneering and cussin’ should be enough to deliver a wild, western, action thriller with a dash of the paranormal. Jonah Hex draws and fires, but it’s only a flesh wound. This recent release from Warner Bros. misses the mark, but not by much. …Continued…
Centurion is a film based in historical fact, that attempts to offer a possible explanation for the disappearance of an entire legion of Roman soldiers in the mists of what would eventually become Scotland more than a millennia ago. At the center of the tale is the son of a gladiator and a small band of unlucky Roman soldiers. …Continued…
This latest release from Warner Bros. Animation has the World’s Finest heroes facing a danger that hits close to home in a film that nicely illustrates the dichotomous teaming of Superman and Batman. The crime crunching curmudgeon and the big, blue Boy Scout work together once again in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. …Continued…
The Matrix Reloaded has been out for a while on Blu-ray as part of a collected box set (The Ultimate Matrix Collection Blu-ray), containing the three films, the full Matrix Revisited features and additional extras. I should start out by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed the whole Matrix experience. I liked all three films. They weren’t perfect, but what is? …Continued…
