You know what, I really had a great time watching Andrew Stanton‘s much-maligned John Carter in the theatre. I can plainly see it’s imperfections – and they’re numerous and often critical – but it’s heart is in the right place and, despite it’s problems, it manages to deliver a really fun ride. Take the scissors to about, oh, twenty-minutes of content or so and perform a little bit of creative rearrangement of key scenes and I think this movie would be the bomb. I hate to say it but I’m actually really looking forward to the eventual fan-edits of this bad boy. I have a feeling they’re going to take this really good movie and make it great. The Blu-ray editions of John Carter will be on store shelves on June 5th in 3D and non-3D combo pack variations.
